At my neighborhood HEB, they have the cutest, most ridiculous metal yard art animals for sale. Armadillos, chickens, rabbits, pretty much you name it, and they have it in metal form, painted in various colors of the rainbow, and available for purchase in front of the grocery store’s doors.
My sweet mama liked yard art. Me, not so much. When I shopped with her, I would try to persuade her from going over the top with her picks. I didn’t have much luck. I think there’s still a family of cement baby angels hanging out on the back porch to this day. Perhaps that woman’s cherubs are this woman’s metal animals, because lately, each trip to HEB becomes more and more challenging to refrain from scooping up one of these ridiculously adorable critters.
And then there’s today when my coworker forwards me this random blog which involves the purchase of a 5′ chicken. It is too funny, and I would love it if you’d scoot over there now and read it. This lady has inspired me. I can have yard art, and I can get some use out of it, too!
Okay, go read, and I’ll keep you posted on my pending yard art collection.
