I’ve got my feelings on the oil spill in the Gulf. In short, it is awful, and it needs to be fixed. But, does this mean we need to cease off-shore drilling? No. We just need to put “people and pro-cesses” (said with the arrogant accent of the BP exec who sufficiently dropped the Transocean folks in the grease (pun intended)) into place to assure this doesn’t happen again.
But until then, I will refer to the wise words of Lucy “LuLu” Buffett, owner of Lulu’s at Homeport Marina in Gulf Shores, author of “Crazy Sista Cooking: Cuisine and Conversation with Lucy Anne Buffett”, and sister of my papi, Jimmy Buffett. She posted this blog a couple days ago, and I believe she speaks perfectly of the Coast. Please take a minute to check it out.
And for those of you on facebook who are interested in following this crisis, “like” Save the Gulf. Their page can be found here.
Oh, and one more thing about this before I return to checking my list of tailgate items for the Buffett concert on Thursday (yay!)…
I STILL think that Obama should’ve been at the memorial services for those 11 hard working Americans who lost their lives in the blast. If he can go to West Virginia for a fewer number of coal miners, he certainly could’ve made a trek to Mississippi/Louisiana.
