My People and Things That Make Me Happy Day proved to be just that: Happy.
I’d be lying if I said it was all happy, but I can’t complain at all. Life is what you make it, and as I’ve said before, My Sweet Mama would want me to smile, laugh, and be happy, so I did my very best. And, I’m going to continue doing my very best to smile, laugh and be happy every single day.
Since I couldn’t be exactly where I wanted to be on My Sweet Mama’s 75th birthday (in Mississippi with my family), my Houston family (complete with Aunt Myrtle and Angie) proved to be the most wonderful substitute! We laughed, ate, drank, shopped, cheered, and laughed some more. It was a truly great day, capped off with a victory for my Houston Astros! Wooo! As of today, we’re only 1 game behind those pesky cubs in the NL Central. Sure, that means that we’re still dead last in our division (and probably all of baseball), but if we keep playing like we’re playing right now, I might just join Ballpark Mary in shouting “WE’RE GOING TO THE WORLD SERIES!”.
Okay, I might not. But it sure feels good to win a few, doesn’t it?
And, in the game of life (here comes today’s moral), you have to count your happiness as victories. Every day is a miracle. Love every minute of it. Live like it’s your last day, because it just might be. And, through all of it, keep smilin’.
Frowning gives you wrinkles.
