I knew it was true, but I’m glad that the world, or atleast NOLA.com, is taking note.
The February 3rd article on Jimmy’s Saint-ly devotion can be found here.
Before the NFC Championship game, Jimmy stumbled (I’m assuming literally) on stage with the New Orleans band the Creole String Beans for an impromptu performance of Margaritaville at a tailgate party. Check out the amateur video of the performance–if only to see Jimmy’s awesome gold pants. On that same page, you’ll also see a great pic of the Creole String Beans lead singer posting with the Lombardi trophy with another favorite band of mine, Better Than Ezra. I bet BTE felt like the King of New Orleans that night!
Here’s Jimmy (with an unidentified lady in a cool hat) holding the Vince Lombardi trophy after the Saints Super Bowl victory!
Jimmy’s also posted an interview with him talking about the Saints’ victory on Radio Margaritaville.
It may have taken 43 years to get there, but it wouldn’t surprise me if it doesn’t take 43 more for them to quit enjoying it.
